Variant: 1.6. Problem Categories. Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss. I wonder if any one can shed any light on the problem I am having with my 2006 Picasso. Recently when I drive around 30 mins with either the air con, blowers or plug a sat nav in and stop the car it will not start again for around 30-45 mins.
Given that the battery is fully charged and assuming all else is ok - wiring , connections etc then the problem is essentially the starter motor at fault Its difficult to say to be honest at this point whether its the solenoid or the starterthis fault could be either but a common fault is the starter "dog" - cog assembly

Check wiring at starter , battery earth and any other earths , especially from engine / gearbox to body . If a recon starter , could be faulty or possibly ignition switch Answered Oct 31, 2022 (1 year ago) the clicking noise is the solinoid for the starter motor firing to engage the engine and start it, how ever its firing but then not turning the engine which is why you just hearing a click. now that will either be some sort of fault with the electric in the starter or maybe not enough juice comming from the battry to turn the engine over.
