If the chain broke the actual damage might be minimal. Depends on how expensive a new chain is, but it could be worth it to just replace the chain, re-align and see how the engine runs. Start the engine and allow the engine to warm up to at least 140 F. Increase engine speed in 200 RPM increments from IDLE to W.O.T. and observe the Actual Fuel Rail Pressure and Desired Fuel Rail Pressure parameters with a scan tool. Allow 2-3 seconds between each 200 RPM increment to allow the rail pressure to stabilize.

They weren't recalled, just done while it was in for service, but most of the dealers weren't / aren't aware of the issue, so need to diagnose, wait for auth from Mazda and then order parts (on back order).
