I’m thinking of changing my car, the Mazda 3 skyactiv 2.2 Diesel look good, and the specs sound good, but what are they like ? any like engine problems? Edited by robinhood1701 on 15/02/2019 at 17:16
the engine is turbocharged, we expect the turbocharger to last long and cause no problems like in previous Skyactiv engines; the engine comes in two outputs: 280 hp, 332 lb-ft for the Turbo and 340 hp, 369 lb-ft for the Turbo S; the only available transmission is the 8-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission - a good and solid unit;
Models: 2012-2013 Mazda3 (SKYACTIV A/T) 2014-2018 Mazda3 (SKYACTIV A/T) 2013-2016 CX-5 (SKYACTIV A/T) 2017-2019 CX-5 (SKYACTIV A/T except for 2.5T engine) with VINs lower than JM3KF515940 (produced before November 1, 2018) 2014-2017 Mazda6 (SKYACTIV A/T) 2018 Mazda6 (SKYACTIV A/T except for 2.5T engine) with VINs lower than JM1GL330038 (produced before November 1, 2018) 2016-2019 CX-3
The turbo kit should be fairly low boost to deal with the high compression engine, and limits of the stock high pressure fuel pump (there is no aftermarket option yet). The 2nd gen skyactiv 2.0 (2012-13; your car) will be safer to boost, as its only achieving 12:1 peak compression ratio, whereas 3d generation Mazda 3s (2014+) got peak
X= The power to make a difference. e-Skyactiv X is an engine that changes everything. Our pioneering engineers succeeded where others failed. e-Skyactiv X burns petrol more efficiently thanks to our Spark Controlled Compression Ignition (SPCCI). It makes more power but produces fewer emissions and uses less fuel than a regular petrol engine
