Gorilla glass is also scratch resistant to some level and actually more flexible than sapphire. Sapphire is more stiff. Both Gorilla glass and sapphire can break when dropped. It's even possible sapphire has a bit more chance to break as it's a stiffer material. These are also the reasons why Gorilla glass is quite popular for smartphones.
